Problem
Overwhelming Content Makes It Hard for Users to Connect with the Foundation.
Users struggled to navigate the website and understand how to get involved. Without clear prompts and simplified content, it was difficult to attract donors or recruit nursing students and volunteers, limiting the foundation’s reach and impact.
The Solution
A Streamlined, Visually Engaging Redesign Creates Clarity and Boosts Engagement.
By simplifying content, clarifying navigation, enhancing visual appeal, and adding prominent calls to action, the redesigned site makes it easier for visitors to connect with the foundation. This thoughtful, user-focused approach supports the foundation’s goals of attracting more donors while also recruiting nursing students and volunteers.
Redesigning The United Hands of God
Clarity, connection, and community impact.

The United Hands of God Foundation supports communities through faith-based outreach and nursing volunteer programs. However, the original website’s cluttered layout, poor navigation, and weak calls to action made it hard for donors to understand the mission and for volunteers to get involved. The redesign focused on simplifying content, improving usability, and creating a more engaging platform that better communicates the foundation’s impact.
Create a clear and intuitive navigation structure to make information easy to find
Simplify and organize content to highlight the foundation’s mission and impact
Add prominent calls to action to encourage donations and volunteer sign-ups
Design a more visually appealing interface that reflects the foundation’s values
Support both donors and nursing students by making involvement clear and accessible
Research
Understanding The Challenge
Goals & Objectives
We collected and organized notes from our client survey to identify key priorities, pain points, and expectations. This helped clarify the foundation’s goals and informed our initial design decisions.
Client Intake Survey
We analyzed five comparable nonprofit websites to identify effective design strategies and common challenges. By highlighting key strengths and weaknesses, this analysis helped shape our approach to navigation, visual hierarchy, and calls to action.
Competitive Analysis
We developed a moodboard to define the visual tone through colors, typography, and imagery that reflect the foundation’s mission. This guided a cohesive and inviting look for the redesigned site.
Moodboard & Visual Direction
To organize content and improve navigation, we created a flowchart mapping the site’s structure and user paths, creating a clear, intuitive experience for donors, volunteers, and visitors.
Information Architecture & Site Flow
We developed low-fidelity wireframes for each page to plan layout, hierarchy, and functionality across the site. These examples helped test design ideas early and refine the user flow before moving to higher-fidelity prototypes.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes
The final high-fidelity designs bring the foundation’s mission to life through a warm, inviting visual identity. We expanded the color palette, typography, and imagery to create a cohesive and approachable look that enhances clarity and engagement. These design choices strengthen the site’s credibility while supporting the foundation’s goals of attracting donors, volunteers, and nursing students.
Visual Design & Identity
A clean, engaging redesign that showcases the foundation’s mission and encourages action.

How to Help
Our goal with "Deja Tu Huella" is to build a safe, modern and adequate space that allows us to continue fulfilling our mission of serving and feeding the soul.
We want to ensure a dignified place for our older adults and an optimal environment for the education of young people who participate in our technical training programs.
The new headquarters will be a community center where solidarity, learning and integral well-being are promoted.

Locations:
2009 – Armenia, Quindío
In 2023, the Foundation solidified its work, improving the lives of older adults, offering young people opportunities for training and development, and supporting families through jobs created by its projects.
2023 – Armenia, Quindío – Vereda Pantanillo & A Million Friends, Building a Great Dream
The Manos Unidas de Dios Foundation launched the "Leave Your Mark" project, aimed at building a new headquarters to continue providing care for older adults and create educational opportunities for young people.
Since 2012, we've operated from a rented space, pouring our efforts into our mission. In 2023, we set out to secure our own property, and by God’s grace, we succeeded. As Matthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” Now, we have a permanent place to further our work.
The "Leave Your Mark" campaign is aimed at creating a safe, modern community center for older adults and young people to thrive. This center will be a place of care, growth, and solidarity. Many have supported us, but we still need more hands and hearts to bring this vision to life.

Project Impact
The final redesign simplified navigation, clarified content, and added prominent calls to action, making it easier for visitors to engage with the foundation. By streamlining the site, potential donors and nursing students can quickly understand the mission and take action, supporting the foundation’s goals and improving overall user experience.
Lessons Learned & Future Development
Broader Audience Consideration: Including more input from a wider variety of potential donors and volunteers earlier could have provided additional insights into user needs and priorities.
Calls to Action: Clear and prominent calls to action are essential. Future improvements could explore additional prompts or personalized pathways to guide visitors more effectively.
Translation Review: We recruited someone else to handle the final website translation after our redesign was completed, but we wish we had the opportunity to review it ourselves or translate it directly to ensure placement accuracy and maintain the intended flow.
Future Development: With more time, the redesign could be expanded to include donor tracking features or further refinements to usability and visual design. We also would’ve loved to test and record real visitors interactions on the new website.
